Chicago Overcoat had its world premiere at the 45th Chicago International Film Festival on October 10, 11, and 19 of 2009. After a private screening and all three of the festival screenings sold out, the film was brought "back by popular demand" for the Best of The Festival on October 21 at 9:45 pm. And the encore screening also sold out!
